These fires start up every year here in Southern California and the Santa Ana winds just make everything spread and worsen. This year, the fires have gotten really close to us; within 10 miles. Thank God there isn't a lot of brush around Huntington Beach, but black smoke fills the skies and forces us to close up all our windows and doors because of the strong smoke that fills the air. It's scary as we're driving down the street, these dark clouds overwhelm the entire sky as if a huge storm were coming toward us. We had to get out of our house today because breathing it in is so bad for our lungs, and especially the babies :( So we are having to stay in a hotel tonight.
My heart and prayers just really go out to the families that lost their homes, or had to evacuate. There are so many firemen trying to contain this beast, but mother nature is just too big to control. I really do pray that this fire subsides and no one else loses their homes, and everyone is safe, including everyone that is trying to help stop it.
